The coin’s obverse features Helvetia, also known as the ‘Swiss Miss’, who resembles Lady Liberty of America. Helvetia has her hair plaited and is adorned with a garland of Edelweiss, with the Swiss Alps in the background. The reverse of the coin displays the Swiss Coat of Arms and the production year, and the edge features Latin text that reads “AD LEGEM ANNI MCM XXXI,” which means “Law of the Year” followed by the year of coin production.
